February 22, 2010

Pretty short e-mail today, and it came much later than usual.
"As you may be able to tell this e-mail has gotten off a bit late. So the computers at the place we usually go weren't working and the library is shut down for renovations so us and the York 1 elders are sharing one computer at the chapel. So I'll have to keep it a bit short this week."
Teaching pool report:
"So, it has been another week. This week wasn't as great as the last but still pretty solid. Our teaching pool has narrowed down a bit. We haven't had any one really step forward and make big steps. So we're still working with a lot but it is getting a bit frustrating. Time is ticking. So yeah we have a lot of work to do."
"This week Richard and Mrs Chu came to church. Mrs. Chu doesn't speak any English but I think she liked what she felt at church. She has a lot to learn and some weird philosophies to overcome. This is the third week in a row for Richard. Unfortunately we've still only taught him once! We are seeing him tomorrow though so I'm excited for that appointment."
Randomly in the middle of the e-mail:
"Elder Beisly says hi."
Apparently, one of the York 1 Elders. And, he closed with this:
"Also fun little fact. My companion really likes short track speed skating. Rumor has it he is pretty good and was working to go to the 2010 olympics before he decided to go on his mission. I guess he had a shot at the olympics, he had a qualifying time to make it to trials, but wasn't a shoe in. He trains at the same place as apollo anton onno or however you spell it, [Apolo Anton Ohno, duh] but wasn't in the same training group. So I am basically friends with a celebrity."
We googled him and found a video he put together before his mission. Here's a link.
